The Question: A Magnolia Grove Companion Novel

COMING JULY 14, 2026

A secret landlord, a shared bedroom, and two broken hearts discovering that home was never just a place.

About the Book

Everyone remembers what Heather did.

After one mistake destroyed her life in Magnolia Grove, Heather thought leaving was the only way to move forward. Starting over at The Commons is supposed to be temporary. A cheap room, a fresh start, and no reminders of the people she hurt.

Then her new roommate turns out to be Wells Spencer.

Wells knows exactly who Heather is. He has every reason to hate her. Instead, he keeps making her laugh. He sleeps just a few feet above her on the top bunk. He shares kisses that were definitely never supposed to happen. With his reputation as Magnolia Grove's biggest flirt, you'd never guess he's still grieving the woman he lost. Beyond Heather's guilt is a woman who has spent years believing she's unworthy of love.

Falling for each other is complicated enough.

Because Wells is hiding a secret that could destroy everything they've built, and the people Heather left behind are about to force them both to answer the one question they've spent years avoiding.

They've already fallen in love.

The question is whether either of them believes they deserve it.

Reader Reviews

I LOVED J.B. McGee's talented writing style, as not only was I transported instantly into her world, it didn't take much at all, for me to become seriously addicted. Cammie and Holden were like the 4th of July together with all of their sparks, and when they ignited, well the fiery flames of sexy scene goodness has the power to destroy all panties near and far. AND with all of the twists and turns swirling around, I can say that many loud f-bombs dropped out of my mouth at high rates.

If your looking for romance, drama, and comedy look no further. I found the characters likeable and relateable. This book definitely has some ups and downs which I've come to expect from this author, I will definitely be reading more.
